I never had the opportunity to say so long, for now. Your memory is etched in my mind and, today, you speak to me with love and kindness in my dreams. My friend, you trusted me like no other, as a couple of young adults, and children finding our way through the hills and the valleys of life, and for that I will always be blessed and grateful.
You followed your heart and lived your dreams. You were a brave soul and Im glad to say you were my, and many others favorite. Coming out was not easy, in our day, and Im so thankful you trusted me enough to know I was your first defense against persecution. You were the sweetest person I have ever known and they're will be no other, like you. I miss you Douglas! Please say hello to Papa and Granny for me, and wait for me.
