Obituary of Madeline "Joyce" Moody

Madeline "Joyce" Moody from Berwick passed away on Friday July 21, 2017 at age 93 in QEII Infirmary, Halifax. It is with loving memories and sad hearts that the family of Joyce Moody announce her passing. She was the only child of Margurite Fisher/Ayer. Joyce was born in Somerset, attended primary school in Harbourville and secondary school in Hantsport, Nova Scotia. Joyce married Hubert Kelly in April of 1943 and they moved from Harbourville settling down in Berwick. Joyce's beloved Hubert passed away in May of 1980 after 37 years of marriage. Joyce married Harold Moody in December 1982 and lost her partner of 28 years in February 2010. Joyce spent her early married life raising children while working part time. When her children we older she enjoyed working as Head of Dietary Aide at WKM Hospital, retiring after 20 years of service. She was a member of Berwick Baptist Church and their Ladies Auxiliary and more recently a member of the Waterville Baptist Church Congregation. She also enjoyed social activities attending local plays, community suppers, traveling, crossword puzzles and cards. Most of all Joyce loved her children and was proud of their accomplishments and spoke of them often: Glenn Kelly (Bette), Kathryn (Armin Sachse), Ruth Ann (Bill Wills), Keith Kelly, Heather (Kim Frost) as well as 7 grandchildren, Justin (Meredith), Alexander (Nicole), Shannon (Joey), Christopher (Melissa), Tristan, Julian and Kaitlin and 4 great grandchildren, Madison, Reese, James and Victoria. A celebration of Joyce's life will be held at the Serenity Lindsay Funeral Chapel, 192 Commercial Street, Berwick, Friday July 28th at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Christina Bigelow officiating. A private family interment will follow reception. Family Flowers only. While Joyce loved flowers, it would be her preference, if in their place you would consider a donation to the Waterville Baptist Church, 1243 Mill St. Waterville, NS, B0P1V0; Diabetes Canada (NS Regional Office) or charity of your choice.
