It is with great sadness that the family of Mildred G. Seward announce her passing, in the Musquodoboit Valley Memorial Hospital, on July 15, 2017. On June 26th 1925, Mildred was born in Berwick, Nova Scotia. She was the daughter of the late Clytie (Weir) and Chester Beals. During the World War II Mildred worked for Maritime Tel and Tel as a switchboard operator. She also worked at the Western Kings Memorial Hospital in Berwick for 11 years. Mildred was an active member of the Berwick United Church. She not only served as a Steward of the church, but also spent many years with the activities of the church Sunday school as well as the church's missionary service. She was a long-time member of the Berwick and District Lionettes' Club and was always keeping busy with their activities to help others. As Mildred grew older, she took a great interest in senior activities for the Kings County Council and also shared duties as a member of the Kings County Crusaders. Over the years, many hours were enjoyed by Mildred golfing in summer and curling in the winter. She held memberships at both the Berwick Curling Club and the Paragon Golf and Country Club with her husband Frank. She is survived by her children son, G. William Seward, daughter C. Eve Lyn Mosher, son-in law Keith H. Mosher and a grandson Dana M. Seward. Mildred was predeceased by her husband Frank W. Seward, a brother Harold L. Beals and sister Marion (Beals) Larsen. A Family Graveside Service will be held at a later date in the Berwick Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the S.P.C.A. or the Canadian Cancer Society. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr. (902-679-2822).
