Obituary of Norman Douglas Wright

Norman Douglas Wright- 96 of Digby, passed away Saturday January 14th, 2017 at Tideview Terrace. Born in Prince Edward Island, he was the son of Oswald and Anne (McKinnon) Wright. Norman served in the RCAF during WW2. Prior to the war, he worked in the Royal Bank of Canada and after his service he became owner of "Wright's of Digby Ltd.", he drove school bus and taught at Canada Manpower Training schools in Digby, Dartmouth and Springhill. Norman was a Digby town councilor and served as deputy mayor, scout leader and district commissioner for Boy Scouts of Canada, a member of the Royal Canadian Legion. He was a member and served in various offices in the Grace United Church in Digby. Norman's love of singing gave him opportunity to share this gift in duets, quartets, and choirs. He is survived by sons Roger of Niagara Falls, ON; Leigh (Gloria) of Bear River, NS; Jon (Bernadette) of Riverview, NB; 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by wife Phyllis; sons Neil, Blair, and Bruce. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Lindsay Annapolis Valley Funeral Home & Chapels, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr (902-679-2822). A memorial service will be held for Norman and Phyllis at a later date. Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to the Grace United Church in Digby.
