Alice Marcella Acker, 90 of The Forties passed away Thursday January 12, 2017 in Mahone Nursing Home. Born in New Ross, she was the daughter of the late Gordon and Grace (Hiltz) Meister. Alice worked in Kentville in a vegetable plant, she signed a Teacher's Agreement for Chester Grant (1942). In her leisure time, she enjoyed cooking, gardening, needlepoint, bingo and cards. She was a dedicated and loving mother and wife, who will always be remembered for her kind, caring heart and loving smile. She always welcomed you in her home and was well known for her cookies, as she was an exceptional cook and baker. She also loved flowers and it showed around her house, she would spend hours out in her flower gardens. Alice and Bev enjoyed going on trips, visiting, square dancing, camping and loved being around people. She enjoyed country music and going to exhibitions with her niece and husband. Alice is survived by two loving sons Brian and Barry. She was predeceased by her husband Beverly; sisters Marie (Bezanson); Violet (Bud Veinott); and brother Ivan and a sister in infancy. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Lindsay Annapolis Valley Funeral Home & Chapels, New Ross Chapel, 4935 Hwy 12 New Ross (902-689-2961). A visitation will take place on January 17, 2017 from 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm. A Funeral Service will be held on January 18, 2017 at 2:00 pm in the New Ross Christ Anglican Church. Family Flowers only. Memorial donations may be made to the New Ross Fire Dept or the Christ Anglican Church.
