I am writing to express my sincere condolences. "Grandma Keddy" holds a special place in my heart. I was excited to be able to have a short visit with her last year at this time. I am not sure she recognized who I was, but her smile and sparkle in her eyes as I walked toward were she was sitting indicated to me that there was a part of her that knew I was someone she had known.
I was so happy to sit with her, laugh and listen to her talk. Her mind didn't really allow her to be totally in the present, but she was still the same person I had known. She spoke of her mom and of her children. The sparkle was still in her eyes, her laughter still so contagious and her sense of humour was still extraordinary. After taking a selfie with her, I looked at the photo only to see in true Grandma Keddy fashion that she had stuck her tongue out.
I am sure she is probably playing Hearts or some other card game right now!
