Edith (Edie) Kathleen Cook It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Edith Kathleen Cook, age 90, at the Annapolis Royal Nursing Home surrounded by her family on September 21, 2016. Born to John and Catherine Dodd in Aldershot, England in 1926. Mom lived around Aldershot, England and at a young age joined the ATS military forces and served during the Second World War. In 1944, mom married the love of her life, George Cook. In 1946, she arrived in Nova Scotia at Pier 21 with many other war brides, where she began her new life in Canada. Mom and Dad resided in Nova Scotia for a short time and then lived in many places across Canada with their young family as Dad was stationed at various military bases. In 1968, they moved back to Annapolis Royal where they spent the rest of their married life. Mom was a homemaker for most of her life and worked at various locations around town. Mom loved her Legion family and War Bride family and volunteered with those organizations for many years. She was a Silver Cross mother for many years, Life Member of Legion branch 21 and member of the Good Neighbour Club. She was known throughout the town for her volunteer work and was loved by all. Mom is survived by her daughter Dorothy (Ron) Bellemare of Annapolis Royal, son Bob (Sandra) of Sandy Bottom Lake, son Richard (Elaine) of Whiteside, daughter Linda of Sackville, sisters Barb (Pete) of Surrey, Jessie and kitty all of England.
