SPIDLE, Stephen Roger "Steve", 62 of Bear River East. It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of Steve on the 25th day of August, 2016, at ACHC in Annapolis Royal, after his yearlong battle with cancer. Born in Digby, on February 20th, 1954, he was the son of the late Roger and Edna (Germain) Spidle. He is survived by his son Jake, Toronto; mother Edna, Digby; his most, best friend Joey, Clementsvale; siblings Joanne (Fred) Miller, Greenland; Rodney, Kingston; Kelly (Sherry Pictou), Bear River; two nieces, one nephew and a number of aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his father, Roger Wallace Spidle. Steve worked various jobs throughout his life; MTT, carpenters' helper, roofing, house painting, building lobster traps, CFB Cornwallis, Shaw Wood, and most recently at Foamworx. Steve was always athletic, excelling at every sport he enjoyed, particularly running, basketball, baseball, was almost unbeatable at the pool table and a very sharp card player. He was an avid fly fisherman and loved the outdoors and all things in nature. He loved to photograph nature the wildlife that frequented his yard and had many beautiful photographs he loved to share with his family and friends. Of all his passions, his greatest love was music. He played guitar, sang like an angel and wrote a number of songs, some of which he recorded on a CD in 2001. A quiet, gentle man, not given to performing outside his home turf, Steve and his beautiful voice and ready wit were always welcome among his many friends in the Bear River area, who will all remember countless occasions they spent jamming with him. He will be sadly missed by his family and many dear friends. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Lindsay Annapolis Valley Funeral Home & Chapels, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr (902-679-2822). Cremation has taken place and a service of memoriam will take place at the Bear River Baptist Church, Rev Dave Bielby of Kentville officiating, on August 30, 2016, at 11:00 am. A private interment will take place at a later date. Flowers are welcome. Memorial donations may be made to the TLC Animal Shelter, Middle Cross Road, PO Box 1601, Digby, NS, B0V 1A0.
