Frederick “Kerley” Lake, 84 of Wolfville, NS passed away on Thursday, August 18, 2016 in Blomidon Court Nursing Home. Born in Wolfville, he was the son of the late Howard and Vera (Dakin) Lake. He spent his life working at Holland Bakery in Wolfville, the Wolfville Dairy and over 30 years at the Wolfville School. Kerley was an associate member of Royal Canadian Legion Branch #74. Kerley loved music, gardening and animals, but he especially loved to watch and feed the various birds around his yard. He is survived by daughters Wanda Lake (Maurice Mytko), Sandi (LeRoy) Barkhouse, Diane Barkhouse; son Merle (Merle) Rogers; brother Hollis (Marg) Lake; sister Gladys (Larry) Pokrant; grandchildren Rhonda (Darren), Pamela, Krista (Greg), Vikki, Kendall, Kirk (Denise), Jackie (Howard) and Debra (Stephen); great-grandchildren Evan, Jody and Kaitlin; sister-in-law Ethel Lake and many nieces and nephews. Kerley was predeceased by his wife Ruby Lake, sister Jean Brown, brother Harold Lake and son-in-law Harold Barkhouse. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Lindsay Annapolis Valley Funeral Home & Chapels, Wolfville Chapel, 568 Main Street Wolfville (902-542-4656). A visitation will take place on August 23, 2016 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A Funeral Service will be held on August 24, 2016 at 2:00 pm in the Wolfville Chapel. Family Flowers only. Memorial donations may be made to the Charity of One’s Choice.
