Donald Robert Barkhouse, 80 of Habitant, died peacefully on Sunday, June 12, 2016 in the Windsor Elms Village. Born on Scott's Bay Road, he was the son of the late Basil and Leila (Brewster) Barkhouse. He was the last member of his immediate family.
He received his education at the Scott's Bay Road country school. At a very young age he went to work on a farm. Finding his niche a few years later in construction, he worked with V.C. He enjoyed his vegetable garden, fishing and hunting. He and Muriel enjoyed traveling to Florida and throughout Canada.
In his later years he loved spending time with his family, especially his two precious grandchildren. A devoted family man, a wonderfully kind husband, loving father and grandfather; Don, Papa/Poppy will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
