Obituary of Rosalie June Leopold

Rosalie June Leopold, age 83 years of Windsor passed away peacefully at the Hants Community Hospital on May 24, 2016. Born in New Ross, NS on June 9, 1932; she was the daughter of the late Ira and Beulah (Redden) Rafuse and was married to the late Harley Leopold for 64 years until his passing in 2013. Being our "Mom" was her biggest cherish and she felt her best whenever she was needed. She was a kind soul who could climb over any rough terrain to pick her loved wild berries even in her 70's and baked her homemade bread from scratch up to her 80th year. She was a proud member of the Ladies Hospital Auxiliary and a member of the United Baptist Church.
Left with fond and loving memories are her children; Allan Leopold (Cathy) of the Forties; daughters Kathy Leopold of Halifax, Claudette Harvey (Dennis) of Leminster, Charlotte Rowe (Vernon) of Mahone Bay and Tracey Macumber (Winston) of Poplar Grove; grandchildren Bradley, Michelle, Brittany, Nicholas, Jesse, Craig, Chad, Joel, Lori, Chelsey, Logan and Taylor; nine great grandchildren and step grandsons Ryan and Randy.
Rosalie was survived by her brother Sheldon (Joyce) Rafuse, New Ross, sisters Elaine (Doran) Corban, Kentville, Bonnie Leopold of New Ross and her best friend since childhood Madge Walker.
Rosalie was predeceased by her siblings; Dean (Joyce, Praxie), Bruce (Yvonne), Delphne (Harvey) Leopold, and Lynn (George) Walker, as well as her brother-in-law Murray Leopold. Along with her husband of 64 years she was also predeceased by her son Douglas Harley and grandchild baby Maxwell.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Lindsay Funeral Homes, New Ross Chapel (902-689-2961). A Memorial Service will be held at the United Baptist Church, Lower Vaughn on Tuesday May 31st, 2016 at 1:00 with a reception to be held at the Lower Vaughn Fire hall following the service. Internment will place at the Church Cemetery New Ross. The family wishes to give a special thank you to Gwen O`Leary, Ruth Dearman, neighbors who's friendship and support was greatly appreciated, the ladies of the Northwood Home Support, the EMO attendants, and the Nurses and Dr.s in the Hants Community Hospital for their positive support and encouragement over the last difficult year. In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Rosalie may be made to the charity the Lung Association.
