Obituary of Clementine Wilmina England
Please share a memory of Clementine to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Clementine Wilmina England, 91, of Oyster Pond. It is with great sadness we announce her death on Sunday, May 22, 2016 in the Valley Regional Hospital, where she passed peacefully, surrounded by family.
Clementine was born March 28, 1925, in Oyster Pond, Guysborough County. She was the daughter of the late Charles and Bessie (Sceles) Grant. As a young lady she began her career as a dedicated teacher at the early age of 17. After 35 years of teaching, and enhancing the lives of countless children, she retired. Clementine also enjoyed the Social Club at St. James Anglican Church and the Seniors Club in Boylston. She loved her country cottage at Mac Pherson's Lake, where every summer, for the past 46 years, she spent quality time with family and friends. But most of all, Clementine loved being grandmother ("Nanny"), for her four grandchildren: Nathan, Cheryl, Justin and Joshua. She was truly a loving, dedicated and amazing mother and grandmother.
Clementine is survived by her daughter Valerie; son-in-law, Murray Oxford; former son-in-law, Larry Burgess; grandsons, Nathan, Justin and Joshua and granddaughter, Cheryl. She is also survived by sisters, Genevieve Smith, Joyce Whittle, and Trudy Standing; brothers, Robert (Betty) and Donald (Jan) and sister-in-law Shirley Grant (wife of Lloyd).
Clementine was predeceased by husband Berkley England, daughter, Cheryl Genevieve England-Burgess; by brother Lloyd and sister Ann (Jenson) and brother-in-law's Stanley Smith, Peter Jenson, Larry Whittle and Wayne Standing.
