Obituary of Edwin "Dale" Caswell

CASWELL, Edwin Dale – 77, of Bridgetown, Annapolis Co., passed away with his daughter and special friend by his side Wednesday, April 13, 2016, in the ICU unit at Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Granville Ferry, he was the son of the late Edwin and Helen (Cox) Caswell. Throughout his working career he had been employed with the Dominion grocery store in Yarmouth before moving to Bridgetown where he managed the Bridgetown Save Easy and then owned and operated a business for several years. He was an active member of the Bridgetown Baptist Church. Dale was a loving father, grandfather, brother and friend. He will be lovingly remembered and never forgotten by his daughter Marlene (Winston) Clements, Middle Sackville; three treasured grandchildren, Vanessa, Tyler, Nicholas; brother, Hubert (Joan) Caswell, Bobcaygeon, ON; several nieces and nephews; special friend Cora Bush; and beloved best friend, his dog Caper. Besides his parents, Dale was predeceased by his wife of 50 years, Doris; and infant brother, Donald. A very special thanks to the wonderful doctors, nurses and staff at both QE2 and Valley Regional Hospital ICU units. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Lindsay Annapolis Valley Funeral Home & Chapels (902-679-2282). There will be no visitation by request. Memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 19, 2016 in the Bridgetown Baptist Church with reception to follow. Interment will take place at the Parker’s Cove Cemetery. Rev. Brian Wallace officiating. Family flowers only, donations may be made in his memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or to the Bridgetown Baptist Church.
