Please share a memory of Elizabeth to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Elizabeth Anne Pulsifer (Betty), 81, it is with great sadness that the family announces her passing in the Valley Regional Hospital after a brief illness, on Wednesday April 06, 2016 at the age of 81. Betty was born in Gaspereau, Nova Scotia on November 27, 1934. She was the daughter of the late Murray and Martha (Coldwell) Vallis. She was predeceased by her parents, her sister Connie (Ross) Steene, sister Sandra (Bob) Plewes and her brother Bernard. She is survived by her husband, Cecil, daughter Karla (Todd), son Bernard (Sandy), granddaughter Zoe (Quinn), great granddaughter Ever, grandson Morgan, and niece Pat Steene.
In 1956 Betty and Cecil, together with their two young children, moved to the northern mining town of Schefferville, Quebec where they lived for 24 years. Besides being an excellent mother, wife, and homemaker, Betty enjoyed and excelled in several sports. She especially enjoyed the years with the Schefferville Curling Club and the bonspiels in Schefferville, Labrador City, Sept Isles, La Grande, and Churchill Falls. After the children had grown up Betty worked for the Iron Ore Company of Canada in the Schefferville office. In 1980 Betty and Cecil moved to Cassiar, a mining town in the Cassiar Mountains in northern British Columbia. She had some wonderful excursions cross country skiing in the mountains with her friends in the winter and enjoyed many weekends fishing and observing wildlife with Cecil in the summers. Betty was quick to make friends and her kitchen was a favourite place for gathering with her friends. When Cecil retired he and Betty bought a home and moved to Salmon Arm, B.C. where they spent many hours together enjoying their vegetable and flower gardens. After a few years in Salmon Arm Betty and Cecil moved back to Nova Scotia where they purchased a home in New Minas, and eventually moved to Tideways in Wolfville, where they made many friends and enjoyed 20 years living and supporting a cooperative life style.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Lindsay Wolfville Funeral Chapel, 568 Main Street Wolfville (902-542-4656). Cremation has taken place and in accordance with Betty's wishes there will be no visitation or funeral service.
