Obituary of Myrtle Evelyn Stewart

Myrtle Evelyn Stewart, passed away peacefully at the Windsor Elms Village March 24 at age 94. Born in Mt. Denson, Nova Scotia to Athlone (A.C.) and Eva Rooney. Myrtle is survived by son Donald and daughter in law Kim, brother, Walter and sister, Minnie, sister in law Ethel and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by first husband Bob Harvey (RCAF-WW2), second husband John Stewart and brothers, Sheldon and Dewitt. Her passion was steam trains and she managed, with help, to sneak aboard a few locomotives on the Dominion Atlantic Railway. Myrtle served as a civilian at CFB Goose Bay during WW2 and then worked at the Royal Bank in Moncton. Myrtle will be sadly missed. An extra special thanks to the Osprey staff at the Windsor Elms Village who went the extra mile to look after their "little Spitfire ". Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Lindsay Annapolis Funeral Home and Chapels, 34 Coldbrook Village Drive, Coldbrook (902-679-2822). At her request there will be no funeral. Interment details to follow at later date. Memorial donations may be made in lieu of flowers to the Alzheimer's Society of Nova Scotia or to the charity of your choice.
