Obituary of Helen Irene Fairbanks

It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Helen Irene Fairbanks (nee Keddy) of Bridgewater, Nova Scotia at the age of 95 years. She was the daughter of the late Howard & Hazel Mullaley Keddy. Helen was predeceased by her loving husband "Hughie" in 1986, as well as her brothers Avery, Howard, Leonard, Leo, Russell, her sister Ethel and her stepdaughter Anne. She is survived by her daughter Kim, her son Fred (Carol), her sister Alice, her nieces Charlotte (Rodney), Mary, Diane, 3 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Her deep involvement with the community and volunteering over the span of numerous years has left many good friends mourning her loss and cherishing many fond memories. Many thanks to the staff at the North Queens Nursing Home for their care and compassion during her short time there. Special thank you to Charlotte and Rodney Swinemar for their limitless support, love and kindness to their Aunt Helen. Helen will be remembered for her active lifestyle, her sense of humor and her deep devotion to her family and her community. She will be missed dearly by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Lindsay Annapolis Valley Funeral Home and Chapels, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Drive, Coldbrook, NS (902-679-2822). Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be at the Christ Anglican Church in New Ross on August 27, 2016 at 11:00 am.
