James Leonard (Ted) Dakin, 75, of Digby, N.S., passed away on Sunday, March 13, 2016 at the Digby General Hospital.
Ted was the founder of the PAR-DAK Business Services of Digby. He retired from accounting in 2002. Ted was a skilled bridge player, involved in both men’s and mixed bridge leagues. Ted was a life-long musician playing his trumpet in various bands – “The Troubadours”, “Satin Serenade”, and “The Last Straw’s”. Ted enjoyed a drink of scotch, a game of pool, a good math problem, and golfing with his daughter and grandsons. He will long be remembered for his kindness, his generosity, his poker face, his golf tips, his barbecuing skills, and his homemade French fries.
Ted is survived by his wife of 51 years, Linda (Hutchings), his daughter, Kelly Dakin Haché of Halifax, and his grandsons, Hunter and Austin Haché of Halifax.
Ted was predeceased by his parents, James Daniel and Josephine Loretta (Eldridge) Dakin, his brother, Robert (Bobby) Dakin, and his sister, Elizabeth (Betty) Joyce.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Lindsay Annapolis Valley Funeral Home and Chapels, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Drive (902-679-2822). Upon Ted’s request, there will be no visitation or funeral. A celebration of his life will take place at a later date.
