Obituary of John Rumbolt
Please share a memory of John to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
John Rumbolt, 77 of Happy Valley - Goose Bay, Labrador, passed away peacefully with his family at his side on Feb 27, 2016 in the Magnolia Nursing Home, Enfield, NS.
John was born in Matthews Cove, Labrador on July 05, 1938 and then raised in Mary’s Harbour Labrador until he was 21, when he moved to Happy Valley - Goose Bay, Labrador.
There he married the love of his life Alberta Michelin on June 15, 1962. He, along with his wife Alberta raised six children in the house he built. He worked very hard and was very well-known and liked around the community. He was an avid hunter and provided well for his family this way. John loved to travel with Alberta and they were able to make many road trips from Labrador to New Brunswick and Nova Scotia to visit their children and grandchildren. For the past eight years or so, they have spent their winters here in the Maritimes and their summers back home in Labrador. He was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and entertained the hope set out in the Holy Scriptures where it states:
"Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life…” - John 5:28,29.
John was predeceased by his parents Ernest & Fanny Rumbolt and great granddaughter Patience Lee.
He was husband to Alberta Rumbolt (Michelin)
Father to Joanne, Ernest, Connie, Shelly, Jason & Jonathan Brother to Mildred, Rita, Roy, Archibald, Clarence, Dorothy & Violet. Grandfather to Robert (TJ), Brandon, Jocelyn, Jessica, Justin, Meghan & Mackenzie (Mac) Great Grandfather to Tristan, Madison, Carson, Kaylee, Jacob & Avery

Honeysuckle Cottage, where he resided. He truly felt like he was home in his little cottage that he and his wife built in Labrador.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society or the Dementia Ward at the Magnolia Continuing Care Facility.
