Obituary of Leigh Watson Miner

Leigh Watson Miner passed away peacefully on Friday February 19th in the farmhouse he was born in ninety years ago. He was the second son of John Williams and Winnifred (Davison) Miner.
Leigh lived his entire life on the Miner farm. He graduated from Wolfville High School. He worked with his father on the farm growing apples, raising sheep, cows, turkeys and geese. He was active in community activities – Farm Forum Fruit Growers Association. He was member of the Gaspereau Players in the early fifties. He was a blood donor having given forty donations to the Red Cross.
Leigh was a long-time member of the Gaspereau United Baptist Church serving on numerous committees. He was a Sunday school Superintendent and Deacon for many years. In 2012 he was honored by named Deacon Emeritus. Fishing on the Gaspereau was a great joy for Leigh.
Leigh is survived by his youngest Sister Joan (Miner) Levy of Bedford, Niece Karna Wright; Charlene Titus, nephews Gregory and Graham Miner, Wayne and Russell Titus and Stuart Levy, several grandnieces and grandnephews.
Leigh’s family would like to express their thanks to Genie Stevens, to all his care givers; the VON, friends and neighbors who did so much for him and making him comfortable staying in his own home. Thank you to Dr. Segato for his many house calls.
Arrangements have been intrusted to Serenity Lindsay Annapolis Valley Funeral Home and Chapels. Donations in his memory may be made to Gaspereau Baptist Church or Miners Marsh-Ducks Unlimited Kentville. Family flowers only. Funeral to take place on February 26, 2016 in the Gaspereau Baptist Church at 2:00 pm. Burial to take place at a later date.
