Dear Craig, Corrinne, Trudy, Trina and Tony,
Our heartfelt condolences! My memories race back to Porters Avenue and all the good times your Dad had a hand in for me. Whether it was "sleeping out" in that 1st of July float he converted into a play house, or bombing around on his homemade go cart, or raiding cherry trees in the middle of the night after he warned us to "stay put"!!! We thought we fooled him, but HE KNEW where those cherry pits came from! Love to you all!

To Dougs children and grand children - you are a family to be proud of and Doug was. To him family came first as I learned when on our very first date he stood me up. I called late in the day and was told he was waiting with his grandson for the arrival of his first great-grandchild.
Doubtless there were some misgivings, nevertheless you accepted me as your Dads friend, including me in his special celebrations.
Doug had rhythm - whatever his nimble fingers touched they would drum out a tune.
Doug was a wonderful, kind, caring, supportive, respectful
gentleman. Widowed for almost eight years I was honored when he asked me to be his friend. Many happy memories were made those last years he lived on Porters Ave. After moving to Manning he continued our friendship by phone with frequent calls - already missed. To have visited him in hospital is a comfort.
Dougs heart and soul were always with Phil. Now,united, he is complete. Thank you for your kindness and for sharing your Dad. I share your grief.
May God richly bless you all.
Take care.
Love and Prayers - Annie
