Obituary of Cyril Greeno

GREENO, CYRIL ARTHUR - 80, of Windsor, NS, died peacefully at Haliburton Place on December 8, 2015. Born on February 2, 1935 in Mount Denson, Hants County, he was the son of the late Gilbert and Mary Jane (Guptill) Greeno. He is survived by sister, Glenda (Webb) Fielding; brothers, Alton (Jack) (Evelyn), Gordon; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sisters, Irma Greeno, Jean (Frank) Hiltz, Stella (Alfred) Benedict, Greta (Everett) Buckler; brothers, Lloyd (Minnie) and Kenneth (Pauline). Though physically disabled and with some mental challenges, Cyril had a great sense of humour and a sharp wit. A kind and gentle man, he loved animals and music, especially Country & Western. He was quite skilled with his hands, creating a variety of crafts and, of course, his colourful popsicle stick lamps. Cyril also enjoyed family gatherings and was a big fan of pot luck suppers! A lifetime resident of Hants County, Cyril spent his last years at Haliburton Place where he was a well-liked member of that community. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Lindsay Annapolis Valley Funeral Home and Chapels. A gathering for Cyril will take place at the Mount Denson Hall on Saturday, December 12th following a 2:00 pm graveside service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Haliburton Place or the charity of choice.
