CHAPMAN, Brenda Joyce, 71, of Aylesford, passed away peacefully at Grand View Manor, Berwick on July 18th, 2015. Born on March 22, 1944 in Berwick, she was a daughter of the late Robert Chapman and Virginia (Whittier) Chapman Davidson and step-daughter of the late Harley Davidson. Brenda enjoyed knitting (a talent she and her Nan Whittier shared). She also loved to crochet (she learned from Aunt Sarah Pierce) a family friend, donating most of her work to the church or to friends with new babies. Brenda was a great cook especially chocolate chip cookies - and they were the best. She was the receiver of the Golden and Silver Poet Award in 1985 and 1986 having some of her poems published in the World Poetry Book. Brenda was a people person and loved to volunteer at Grand View Manor. She loved her family especially her Uncle Ralph, and always wanted to be the perfect lady like Aunty Ruth and indeed she was the perfect lady. Brenda did not like anything sad, but always her Giddy-Up-Go music, singing and dancing.Brenda is survived by a half-brother James, half-sisters Sherry and Milly all in Alberta; several aunts, uncles in Alberta, Ontario and Australia; many cousins in Alberta, Ontario, Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, Mass, Georgia, and Australia. The Whittier family would like to thank Dr. Peter Goddard and the staff of Grand View Manor for the care and compassion which Brenda received. Also a “thank you” to Janet for her prayer vigil and to Shelley for being there for Brenda's journey; we are forever grateful.
