WILSON, Kenneth Keith, 83, Victoria Beach, devoted husband, loving father, and adoring grandfather passed away peacefully at the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville, Nova Scotia on Thursday, June 25,2015. "Ken" served his country as a soldier in the Canadian Armed Forces for 32 years. He was a lifetime member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #98 in Kingston, where he filled many executive positions. Ken enjoyed curling and Scouting. He bred and raised poddles and was the dogcatcher in Greenwood. He was always available to lend a helping hand to friends and neighbours. He worked hard to send shipments of food, videos, and books to our troops in Afghanistan and to ships in the Persian Gulf. He collected pop tabs for children who needed wheelchairs. Ken loved his family very much and was well-loved in return. He is survived by his wife and best friend, Andrea; sons Andrew (F. Nancy) Lake Echo, NS; Mickie (Michelle) Lacombe, AB; Philip, Texas, USA; daughters, Carmen (Dennis) Williams, Calmar, AB; Carol (Colin) Sutherland, Calgary, AB; ten grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. The family extends a thank you to the nursing staff and doctors at the Valley Regional Hospital who looked after Ken so well. Donations in memory of Ken may be made to the IWK Health Center or the Royal Canadian Legion Branch Poppy Fund.. As requested cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Lindsay Annapolis Valley Funeral Home (Coldbrook) (902) 679-2822.
