MacDONALD, James Norman, Age 71 of Kentville, passed away peacefully on April 28, 2015 in the Valley Regional Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Born on August 30, 1943 he was the son of the late Clare and Lucy (MacNamara) MacDonald. James worked as a truck driver for Valley Transfer for many years until they sold the company. He then went to work for Dick Haliburton until his retirement. James loved to fish and hunt and spent many hours doing so. James is survived by his children Ed (Jennifer) MacDonald, Upper Vaughan; Melissa (Chris) MacDonald-Benjamin, Wolfville; James (Mary) Aylesford, Rick (Charleen), Alberta; Lucy, Halifax; grandchildren: Brandon MacDonald, Kitara, Caelum MacDonald-Benjamin, Jennifer, Jimmy Lee, Zane, Zack, Rick MacDonald, Ashley Swinamer, Rheanne Tuffs; four great-grandchildren: Gavin Kaiden, Katanna and Daytona. James was the last surviving of his family. Predeceased by siblings Florence Boyd, Eva Cunningham, Edward, Leon and Nelson MacDonald, and grandchild Katanna MacDonald. Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation by request. A Graveside Service will be held on May 12, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the Falmouth Cemetery, Falmouth, Terry Coldwell officiating. Donations in memory of James may be made to the IWK or a charity of one’s choice. The family would like to express their deepest and sincerest thanks to all those involved in Dad’s care over the last few months.
