Obituary of Madelon Misner

Misner, Madelon Edith - formerly of Woodville, Kings County, passed away peacefully at Tideview Terrace, Digby on February 6, 2015. Born in Boston, Massachusetts in 1927, she was the daughter of the late Lester and Lillian (Lacey) Hutt. Madelon received her high school diploma through correspondence courses, attended Mack Business College in Kentville and received her Junior Diploma in Education from Acadia University. Education was very important to her and we are very proud of her accomplishments. Madelon worked at the Nova Scotia Sanatorium, Blanchard Fraser Memorial Hospital and finished her career at Valley Regional Hospital. She retired to care for our dad, who passed away in July 1986. She was a member of Woodville Baptist Church and enjoyed swimming, cross country skiing, square dancing, knitting, crocheting and playing piano. Madelon will be lovingly remembered by daughter Maxine (Willis) Marshall, Digby; sons Ronald (Theresa) Misner, Kentville; Paul (Susan) Misner, Pleasantville; Brian (Jeanne) Misner, Bedford; grandchildren Ian (Jennifer) Marshall; Julie (Yvan) Desjardins; Beth (Bruce) White; Tony Misner; Roxanna (Charles) Carr; Holly (Rick) Weatherill; Andrea, Lynn, Adam, Robin and Chris Misner and 10 great grandchildren. She is also survived by brothers Charles Hutt, Greenwood; John (Eileen) Hutt, Hamilton Ontario; and David (Audrey) Hutt, Harbourville. Madelon was predeceased by her husband, Lindsay, granddaughter, Kami Lynn Misner, brothers Irving and Gerald Hutt, sisters Marguerite Squarebriggs, Helen Mapplebeck, Louise Haley and Mary Hutt. Visitation will be 10 am-noon on February 11, 2015, with a Celebration of Life Service at 2 pm, both in the Serenity Lindsay Annapolis Valley Funeral Home and Chapel, Berwick Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Murray Shaw officiating. Burial will be at a later date. A special thanks to the staff of Tideview Terrace who gave Maddy such tender loving care during her years there. Family flowers only.
