TAYLOR, Mildred Eleanor (Snookie) 75 of Victoria Beach, Annapolis Co., passed away on Monday, 26th January 2015 in Annapolis Community Health Centre. Mildred was born in Yarmouth, on April 4th, 1939 and was a daughter of the late Ralph and Alice (Crosby) McGrath, Port Wade, NS.
Snookie graduated from St. Patrick's Business College, Digby in 1957. She worked for many years at Casey's and was an avid volunteer: Victoria Beach Baptist Church Auxiliary, WMS, Victoria Beach Baptist Church, Heart & Stroke Association, Volunteering Member of Local New Horizon, various local groups, Christmas Daddies for over 30 years, also made Teddy Bears for Annapolis Community Health Centre. Snookie had an art for singing and made a CD (Songs by The Sea). Her jamming friends will miss her.
Mildred is survived by daughter, Valerie (Charles) McWhinnie, Victoria Beach, NS; sisters Jane (Robert), Wolfville, NS; Linda, Victoria Beach, NS; Mary Lou (Tom) Cowan, Digby, NS; brothers Daryl (Debbie) Granville Ferry, NS; Bruce (Annie) Sydney, Australia and Gary; grandchildren Miranda (Chad), Digby, NS and Megan, Ashmore, NS; also great grandchild Jonathan. She was predeceased by her husband Basil Taylor (2009).
As per her wishes cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation. A service will be held on Saturday, February 7th, 2015 at 2PM at the Victoria Beach Church. Reception to follow at Port Wade Church Hall. Donations may be made to Victoria Beach Church or Hall or a charity of your choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Lindsay Funeral Home & Chapel, Coldbrook (679-2822).
