Fairn Lenore Irene (Lena Porter), passed away at the Soldiers Memorial Hospital in Middleton on January 23, 2015. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Lena was born in Round Hill, Annapolis Co. and was the daughter of the late Frank and Lottie Porter. She moved to Liverpool, Queens Co. where she lived for 35 years. She was co-owner and manager of Liverpool Ladies Wear Ltd. She was a past member of Liverpool Merchants Assoc, Girl Guide Assoc. and Liverpool Curling Club. Retiring in 1983 she moved to Moschelle, Annapolis Co. She was a past member of Trinity Anglican Church, Liverpool, past member of St. Johns Anglican Church, Moschelle and a member of St James Anglican Church, Bridgetown. She is survived by her daughter Maryln (Ron) Boudreau, Moschelle; grandchildren Barbara (Tom) Read, Newcastle, ON and Donna Boudreau, Kitchener, ON; great grandchildren Taralyn (Jamie) Perdue, Newcastle, ON and Tyler (Stacy) Read Oshawa, ON; extended family Marg and Brett Meadows Kitchener, ON; great great grandchildren Joshua William, Sophia Perdue and Jackson Read; sister in law Arliene Porter; also by many nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at St. James Anglican Church, Bridgetown on January 31, 2015 at 2pm with Rev Joel Hardy officiating. Donations may be made to St. James Anglican Church, Bridgetown and at the request of the deceased and family there will be no visitation and family flowers only. Following the service everyone is invited to a reception in St. James Hall. A private committal service will take place later that day. Maryln would like to thank the VON Ladies Amy, Carrie, Cheryl, Tammy, and Senaoid, many thanks for helping me keep Mom at home for as long as I did. All the nurses on the 3rd floor at SMH and Ann. Thank you also Donna Hatt and staff at Grace Haven for your loving and tender care you showed my Mom. Thank you also to Dr Balser and staff at the Middlenton Collaborative Practice; Dr. Lori Burgess and Janet Welton RN of Annapolis Valley Palliative Care; also thank you to Rev. Joel Hardy for all his visits and prayers.
