Obituary of Nellie Helena Robertson

ROBERTSON, Nellie Helena, 85, from Windsor, Hants County passed away at home on Wednesday, January 21, 2015. Born on November 27, 1929 in Windsor, Hants Co., she was the daughter of John and Sadie (Macumber) Porter. Nellie worked for 54 years at the Nova Scotia Textiles in Windsor. She had a strong work ethic that she passed on to all her children. She also enjoyed Bingo both on TV and at the Legion, as well as being a faithful watcher of the Price Is Right and the daytime soaps. Nellie will be forever missed by daughters Joanne Galley (Phil) Garlands Crossing; Sue Vogel (Mark) Portland, Oregon; Linda Leopold (Kerry) Leminster; Brenda Orchard, Goderich, Ontario; son John (Wanda) Windsor; sisters Olive Armstrong (Bill), Windsor; Ruth Chambers, Newport Station. She was a wonderful grandmother to 12 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Nellie was predeceased by husband Jack (2006); sisters Myrtle and Jean; brothers Alfred, Frank, Fred, John and Arthur. As per Nellie’s request cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held at Lindsay’s Funeral Home (194 King Street, Windsor) at 2:00pm on Monday, 26th January 2015, reception to follow. Interment at a later date. Donations in Nellie’s memory may be made to the Windsor Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.
