McKinley, Gerald Allan – 88 of Wolfville, passed away peacefully in Mountain Lea Lodge, Bridgetown on Monday September 1st, 2014. Born in Port Williams, May 31st, 1926, he was a son of the late George and Abbie (Stoddard) McKinley. He is survived by his wife the former, Marion Sheffield, Wolfville Nursing Home; daughters, Karen (David) Leslie, Dartmouth, Susan (Ian) MacGillivary, Oromocto, NB; grandchildren, Rebecca (Sean Wilkinson) Leslie, Andrew (Michelle Harrison) Leslie, Scott and Joey MacGillivary; great grandchildren, Elizabeth, Ewan, Jude and Max; brother, Harry; aunt Mary Lewis; a niece and several nephews and cousins. Gerald was predeceased by his parents and brothers, Loran and Fred. Gerald had a 45 year career at Acadia University, starting as a carpenter’s helper and retiring as Physical Plant Supervisor. He enjoyed carpentry and wood carving. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Serenity Lindsay Annapolis Valley Funeral Home, Wolfville Chapel (902-542-4656). At his request, there will be no visitation or service. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory may be made to Mountain Lea Lodge, 170 Church Street, Bridgetown, NS B0S 1C0 and would be greatly appreciated.
