Doherty, John Hayward - 90, Chipman Brook passed away peacefully at home June 29, 2014. Born in Chipman Brook, he was a son of the late Alfred and Elsie (Fredericks) Doherty. John enjoyed the outdoors and especially farming, spending countless hours in the barn. He worked for the Dept. of Highways for a short period of time. He is survived by sons Stewart (Eleanor); Murray (Vivencia); Timothy all of Chipman Brook; Chris (Nenita), Kentville; Laurie (Sandra), Aylesford; daughters Judith(Dave Bezanson), Waterville; Connie Gover, Dartmouth; Cindy (Gerry) Beals, Black Rock; one sister Ethel Misner, Vancouver; 26 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son Gerald; granddaughter Kylesha Doherty - Beals; great great granddaughter Adrianna Kenney; brothers Harold, Charlie, Bob, Bill, Clifford, Joseph, Jimmy, Donald, Howard; sisters Florence Misner, Emma Turner. Visitation will be 6 - 8 pm Thursday in the Serenity Lindsay Annapolis Valley Funeral Home, Berwick Chapel, 192 Commercial Street, Berwick. Graveside service will be Friday at 2pm
in the West Black Rock Cemetery. Pastor Christina Bigelow officiating. Family flowers only. Donations may be made to the Kings County S.P.C.A. or the West Black Rock Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Lindsay Annapolis Valley Funeral Home, Berwick Chapel (192 Commercial Street).
