Croft, Deborah Anne - 67 of Falmouth, passed away Friday June 13, 2014 at Hants Community Hospital, Windsor, with her family by her side. Born in the Magdalen Islands, May 16, 1947, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Florence McLean. Mom was a teacher for 25 years. She began her career teaching in Brooklyn and then later moved to the Annapolis Valley where she loved teaching primary children. Debbie is survived by her loving husband and best friend, Russell; son, Paul (Jan) Wheadon; son- in – law, Trevor (Darlene) Awalt; stepson, Russell (Mary) Croft; grandchildren, Keltie (Jeff) Mclean, Jeffrey (Vicki ) Awalt; great granddaughter, Charlie; brothers, Gary (Pat) McLean and Sam McLean; sisters, Brenda (Dave) Skinner and Judy(Doug) McLean; nieces and nephews, Jeff( Jessica), Megan and Ryan Skinner, Scott (Amanda), Mark and Holly (Forrest) McLean; many special friends made along the way. Deborah was predeceased by her mother, Florence; father, Walter and daughter, Cheryl. Cremation has taken place, a celebration of Debbie's life will be held at the Croft home on Friday, June 20, 2014 at 1 pm for friends and family. We would like to thank all of the VON nurses and healthcare workers who have worked with Deborah and Russ over the years. Special thanks to Dr. Catherine Smith and the palliative care unit at the Hants Community Hospital. Donations in memory may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, Children’s Wish Foundation or to Breast Cancer Research.
