Steele, Daisy Olive – 99, of Berwick, passed away peacefully Tuesday June 3rd, 2014 at Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Port Williams, she was a daughter of the late Henry and Margaret (Taylor) Graves. Daisy taught school in Kings County for over 30 years. She was a long time member of Berwick United Baptist Church, Women’s Missionary Society and Central Kings Seniors Crusaders. Daisy is survived by sons, Kenneth (Maria), Halifax, Gerald (Dianne), Cambridge; daughters, Phyllis Mosher, Cambridge, Jean (Cameron) Baker, Cambridge; sister, Dorothy “Dot” Smith, Sudbury, ON; grandchildren, Betty, Shannon, Shawna and Nancy; great grandchildren, Billy, Braeden and Brandon; several nieces and nephews. Her two "shih tzu friends", Koda and Suzie who spent many hours with her, will certainly miss Daisy as well. Besides her parents, Daisy was predeceased by her husband, Clayton Steele; son, Eric; brothers, William and Albert; sister, Florence “Pat” (Willie) Costley; son-in-law, Kendall Mosher; brother-in-law, Munroe “Roe” Smith. A memorial service followed by a reception will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday June 5th at Serenity Lindsay Annapolis Valley Funeral Home, Berwick Chapel, 192 Commercial St., Berwick (902-538-9900). A private family interment will follow in Aylesford Union Cemetery. The family wishes to thank Eric, Peggy and staff of Silver's Rest Home, Berwick for the amazing love and care they provided to Daisy, where she has resided for over 12 years. They would also like to thank the staff of Med A at Valley Regional Hospital for the great care and concern for Daisy and family.
