Obituary of Wanetta Fraser

Fraser, Wanetta (Nita) Elizabeth – age 81 years of Digby and formerly of Clementsvale, passed away on May 2, 2014 at the Tideview Terrace where she lived for the last 4 years and was cared for by a wonderful staff. Born in Bear River East on October 24, 1933; she was the daughter of the late Lovett and Jennie (Hardwick) Brown. She was predeceased by her loving husband Keith; brother James “Jim” and sister Marion MacDonald. She will be sadly missed by her sons Gary (Anne) of Bear River East, Jeff (Cookie) of Clementsvale; beloved grandchildren Garrett of Clementsvale, Roric of Cole harbor, Ryan of Calgary and Megan of Edmonton; great grandchildren Keith, Addison and Aiden. Nita was a caring sister to Richard of Halifax, Patricia (Mike) Cherrie (Bill) Hall of Deep Brook and Cheryel Brown of Bridgetown; brother in law Lew MacDonald of Florida; also by several nieces and nephews. Before her initial stroke in 2010, Nita loved cooking and family gatherings. She was famous to her friends and family for her sugar cookies and fudge; and was a beloved grandmother figure to all the children in her community. In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family graveside service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Nita made to the Tideview Terrace would be greatly appreciated by her family.
