Baltzer, Bernice Mary (Petty) – age 98 years of Black Rock, passed away at the Grandview Manor on April 10, 2014. Born in Woodville on April 29, 1915; she was the daughter of the late Tom and Ada (Kirk) Petty. Bernice was a member of the Wesley-Knox United Church in Woodville, member of the OES Evangeline Chapter #15 in Kentville where she was past worthy matron. Survived by her sons Mawson (Shirley) of Woodville and Boyd of Berwick; daughter Linda Carr (James) of Kingston; sister Elizabeth Nelson of Amherst; 4 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren and also several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband Elder V. Baltzer; granddaughter Mary-Lynn Baltzer; sisters Hazel Foote and Rose Dixon; brothers in law Henry Foote and Laurie Nelson. Visitation to take place from 2-4pm on Sunday, April 13, 2014 at the Serenity Lindsay Funeral Home, Berwick Chapel; from where the funeral service will follow at 2pm on Monday, April 14, 2014 with Rev. Bruce Lumsden officiating. Interment in the East Black Rock Cemetery. Special thanks to the staff at the Grandview Manor for all their love, care and support shown to mom and our family during her time there. Family flowers only please. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Bernice may be made to the Black Rock Baptist Church or to the Canadian Cancer Society.
