David was a great man. He was strong, in resolve and muscle, but he had a heart of gold and a true love for his family and friends. He was dependable. I also believe something many may not realize is David was a genius. He had a creative mind and a high ability to learn. He could go from being a pie maker to a vb scripting and local database spreadsheet guru. So much to the point he made things too efficient. He went from a pizza delivery guy to a tier 3 Analyst at BlackBerry. He also was a leather crafter, and a motorcycle enthusiast and a semi-expert on swords and art of maintenance of blades. He could build and upgrade air rifles. He could write entries stories. David was a genius.
David was also a good friend. He would stay up late hours to talk about life and love. He would make time to spend entire days with friends, even to the last days when he was burdened with pain he put others first.
He inspired hundreds of people .
We all miss David.
God speed David and peace forever. Thinking of you on your birthday.

I only really knew David as the older brother of my friend, Lisa. It was obvious how special their brother-sister bond was and I quickly learned that David was indeed a very kind, gentle and funny man. He brought me food on my first night in the city just because he thought I'd need it. Funny, kind, and thoughtful. My sympathies to all who loved him.

He was always willing to help others and lend his strength when you needed a shoulder. I hope you have found peace and a great place to ride your Harley forever. I will miss you fiercely but I know you're just getting the game table ready for the rest of us. Love and condolences to David's family, especially Esther. xo

Condolences to Dave's mother and family and his many many life-long friends and BlackBerry ex-coworkers. I never met Dave personally but my son Brandon worked with him and gamed with him on weekends. I know how hard my son and his friends searched for Dave, and My heart ached to see them hurt and miss their friend so much. He was truly loved by so many. As a mother, when our children hurt, we hurt. Dave is in a much better place and at peace. Bless you all, especially you Esther.

My first memory of David was of him flying past me on his motorbike with the biggest smile on his face! I sat next to David off and on over our many years at BlackBerry and most of that time was spent laughing at his sarcastic comments, his jokes, and life stories!
I've seen others write that David was a gentle giant, and that seems to fit. He was a friend to all, was filled with genuine kindness, and he could always make everyone laugh. You will be missed David.

Dear Esther, I can't even begin to imagine the pain of losing a son. However, I do know the hole left behind when a loved one passes. You must try to fill that hole with loving thoughts of your dear David and make it a mission to create new memories with your family & friends. Hug lots, and cry whenever/wherever the need arises. xo So many circumstances in life are out of our control; hard fact to accept. Take comfort knowing David loved and was loved. With time, your coping skills will get stronger to deal with this tragedy in your life; so many are counting on you to rise again! Holding you & Bernie in my heart!
