Obituary of Karl Frederick Rockwell

Rockwell, Karl Frederick – 87, passed away peacefully on January 9, 2014 at Grandview Manor. Born on July 11, 1926 to Rufus Sommerton Rockwell and Ella Jane (Johnstone) Rockwell, Karl spent most of his working life on the Dominion Atlantic Railway and the Quebec Northshore and Labrador Railway in Sept Iles, Quebec. He is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Joyce Alberta (Pineo) Rockwell; daughters Teresa (Larry) Ogilvie, Karlene (Randy) Pynch and son Rufus (Paulette) Rockwell; 10 grandchildren, Sharlene, Gisele, Tommy, Michael, Stephen, Stacey, Chad, Andrea, Jennifer and Mindy; 21 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild;son in law Clarence Weatherbee; brother in law Paul Jackson; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter Veneda Weatherbee; brothers Rufus and Benjamin Rockwell; sisters Edith Alders and Geraldine Jackson and granddaughter Jocelyn Pynch. Karl was the last surviving member of his family. In keeping with Karl’s wishes, there will be no visitation. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, January 12, 2014 at 2pm from Serenity Lindsay Funeral Home, Berwick Chapel (192 Commercial St.) with Rev. Dr. Judy Saunders officiating.
