Green, Francis Jarvis, 82 of Coldbrook, Kings Co. passed away Monday, November 24, 2008 at home. Born in Cardigan, Prince Edward Island, he was the son of the late Richard & Florence ( Doucette ) Green. Francis was a veteran of the Second World War & retired after 29 years in the Armed Forces. He then worked for Michelin, & retired from there after 16 years. Frank enjoyed bowling & played a lot of fast ball while living in Ontario. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 16, Pictou. He loved his family & enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren & his beloved dogs, "Blackie & Bailey". Frank is survived by daughters: Rebecca Cowan, Vancouver; Rochelle (Joe) Scanlan, Pictou; Susan (Vernon) Burke, Coldbrook; Angela Green, Wolfville; sons: Gerald, Halifax; Joseph (Lynn), Duncan, B.C.; daughter-in-law, Carolyn, Halifax; 12 grandchildren; Jenna, Adrian, James, Christopher, Michael, Neil, Christopher, Andrea, Adam, Nathan, Caitlen & Alyssa; 8 great grandchildren: Hope, Adina, Emma, Jeremy, Aaron, Makayla, Melissa & Holden. Frank was predeceased by his wife, the former Lorraine Pettipas; brothers: Harry & Richard; sisters: Beatrice, Cecilia & Theresa.. Visitation will be held 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Thursday, with a Legion tribute service at 7 p.m. from the Annapolis Valley Funeral Home, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr., Coldbrook (Exit 14). Funeral mass will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday in St. Joseph??s Roman Catholic Church, Kentville. Father Craig Christenson will officiate. Cremation will follow & interment of ashes will be in Stella Maris Cemetery, Pictou at a later date. Family flowers only.
