Connors, Retta Iolia, 93 of South Waterville, Kings Co. passed away 3:00 p.m. Thursday, February 14, 2008 in the Grand View Manor, Berwick. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Born in West Black Rock, June 25th , 1914 she was a daughter of the late Alexander N. and Elizabeth M. (Dunham) Gould. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great, great grandmother, who loved the color red, music and dance. She was an auxiliary member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Ortona Branch # 69, Berwick for 20 years. She will be lovingly remembered by daughters: Dorothy Usher, Cambridge; Margaret Pynch, Elizabeth (Henry) Chapman , both of South Waterville; Violet (Everett) Dalton , Prospect; sons: LeRoy of Grand View Manor (Shirley), Cambridge; Robert (Gladys) , Rockland; daughter-in-law, Brenda Connors; sons-in-law: Wayne Usher and Carl Adams, both of Cambridge; 38 grandchildren; 71 great grandchildren; 3 chosen and 6 step great grandchildren; several great, great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Harvey LeRoy Connors; daughters: Thelma (Corkum) Adams; Barbara Usher; son, Donald; grandsons: Gerald Pynch and Greg Chapman; great grand daughter, Malinda Lutz; great grandson, Francis Vondette; sons-in -law, Walter Corkum, Ira Usher and Gerald Pynch; sisters: Sceva, Amanda, Minnie, Bertie, Marjorie; brothers: Earl, Norman and Harold. Visitation will be held 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Saturday in the Annapolis Valley Funeral Home 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr. (Exit 14), Coldbrook. A Legion Auxiliary TributeService followed by the funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday in the Cambridge Baptist Church, Cambridge. Rev. Garnet Parker officiating. Interment will be held at a later date in the Cambridge Cemetery, Cambridge. Donations in memory of Retta may be made to the Cambridge Cemetery Co., Kings Co. or to a charity of choice.
