Gates (Brown), Wendy Lee, of New Minas, passed away peacefully in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville on Tuesday, September 26, 2006 at the age of 50. Born in Kentville, she was the daughter of Irene (Mailman) Brown, of New Minas and the late Arthur Brown Sr. Wendy will be sadly missed by her family and many friends. Surviving besides her mother are; son: Mark Gates (Becky), Aylesford, brother: Arthur (Bubs) Brown (Dorothy), Nashwaak Bridge, N.B.; Mark Dauphinee (boy friend); her beloved and precious " Nana's Boy", Draven Lee Gates, nephews Rick and Glen Brown and niece Anne Melanson and their families. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be 7 to 9 p.m. Friday and funeral service 2:00 p.m. Saturday both at the Annapolis Valley Funeral Home, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Drive,( Exit 14) Coldbrook. Pastor Wayne Nicholson officiating. Interment will be in the Greenfield Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of choice.
