Obituary of Gordon Harvey

Harvey, Gordon Frederick, 70, of 983 Elizabeth Dr. Kentville, passed away October 31, 2005 in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Steam Mill, Kings Co., November 23, 1934, he was a son of the late Barry and Margaret (Mahar) Harvey. He had been employed for 22 years as a plumber at CFB Greenwood. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and wood working. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, the former Gwendolyn Althea Smith; their six children: Malcolm (Kim), New Minas; Deric (Janet), Kentville; Carolyn (Alvin) Herridge, Steam Mill; William (Cathy), Digby; Myrna Harvey, Kentville; Tammy Harvey, New Minas; eleven grandchildren and three great grandchildren; four brothers: Clyde (Ethel), Steam Mill; James (Berneda) ,Coldbrook; George (Jane), New Minas; Maurice (Florence), Kentville; three sisters: Eleanor (Earl) Haggerty, Centreville; Leota O'Connell, New Minas; Joan (Lawrence) Arenburg, Steam Mill ; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers: Arthur in infancy and Kenneth and a great granddaughter. Visitation will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Annapolis Valley Funeral Home, Coldbrook.(679-2822). Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the Gaspereau United Baptist Church, Gaspereau. Rev. Mark Shaw officiating. Interment will be in the Gaspereau Cemetery. Family flowers only by request.
