Parker, Harley Norman, 75, of Greenwood, Kings Co. passed away peacefully on Monday, August 31, 2009 in the QE II, V.G. Site, Halifax. Born in Three Mile Plains, Hants Co., he was a son of the late Norman & Vera (Dauphinee) Parker. Harley retired after 27 years with the Royal Canadian Air Force & then was employed for 13 years with Central Warehouse, CFB Greenwood. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Air Force Association. He is survived by his common - law wife, Marilyn; son, Jay (Mary), Greenwood; daughter, Janice (Michael) Pontbriand, Greenwood; grandchildren: Sarah, Jenna, Devon, Ashley & Jarrett; brothers: Kenneth (Dorothy), Falmouth; Karl (Isabel), Penticton, B.C.; sisters: Melda (Earl) Lunn, Moncton, N.B.; Gwen (Bev) Milner, Falmouth.; sister-in-law, Louise, Falmouth; several nieces & nephews. Harley was predeceased by his first wife, Faye; brother, Ernest; sister, Amy Vincent. Cremation has taken place under the care & direction of the Annapolis Valley Funeral Home, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr., Coldbrook. A memorial service will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, Sept. 4 in the St. Mark??s Protestant Chapel, Greenwood. Padre Gordon Poley officiating. A reception to follow in the church hall. There will be no visitation by family request. Family flowers only, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to a charity of choice.
