Beatty, Terry William, 71, Hortonville, Kings Co. passed away Thursday, May 7, 2009 at his home. Born in Hortonville he was a son of the late Freeman and Eva (Rushton) Beatty. Terry was employed for 26 years with Acadia Dairy, Wolfville and then did landscaping with Fred Rogers. He enjoyed his display of Christmas lights, hunting and fishing. He will be missed by his dog, Bumper and his cats, Maggie Muffin and Patty. Terry is survived by his loving partner & best friend, Dorothy Kelly; son, Craig, British Columbia; daughter, Cindy, New Minas; brother, Robert (Donna), Belliveau Cove; Michael (Marilyn), Port Williams; sisters, Shirley ???Sis?? (Dave) Stewart, Blomindon; Judy (Gary) Marshall, Weymouth; step children, Erlene (Doug Church), Hantsport; Howard (Jacqueline) Kelly, Grand Pre; Willie (Michelle Shortliffe) Kelly, Grand Pre; Angela Kelly; Robbie (Marlene) Kelly, Hortonville; several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Terry was predeceased by brothers, Donald Beatty and Sammy Keith; sister, Sheila; brother-in-law, Richard Forsythe; step son, Bruce; step daughter-in-law, Susan. Visitation will be held from 7-9 p.m. Monday evening from the Annapolis Valley Funeral Home, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr. , Coldbrook. Funeral service will be held 3:00 p.m. Tuesday from the Avonport Baptist Church. Rev. Gail Whalen-Dunn officiating. A reception to follow in the church hall. Interment will take place in the Lower Horton Cemetery, Grand Pre. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made Canadian Cancer Society, Kidney Foundation of Canada, Nova Scotia Branch or to a charity of choice.
