Obituary of Leslie Strong

Strong, Leslie Floyd, 76 of South Berwick, Kings Co. passed away on Tuesday, March 17, 2009 in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Rockland, Kings Co., he was a son of the late Everett & Mabel (Taylor) Strong. He farmed all his life in mixed farming and did custom farm work throughout the community. He also worked with the Department of Highways for several years. He was a former member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 69, Berwick, where he and his wife enjoyed going to dances. Leslie is survived by his wife the former, Aileen Atwell; daughter, Marlene (Dale) Smith, Windemere; sons: Robert (Harriett); Andrew (Sandra), all of Waterville; Michael Strong, Alberta; stepdaughter, Mildred Erickson, Halifax; stepson, Clifford Erickson, Melanson; sister, Myrtle Merrett, Port Williams; 15 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; He was predeceased by 2 sons, Wayne & Joseph. Visitation will be held 7-9 p.m. Friday from the Annapolis Valley Funeral Home, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr.(Exit 14), Coldbrook and from where the funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Rev. Garnet Parker officiating. Interment will take place in the Berwick Cemetery, Berwick. Family flowers only, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or a charity of choice.
