Strong, Harold Adelbert, 86, of South Waterville, Kings County, passed away Saturday, February 14, 2009 in his home surrounded by his family. Born in South Waterville, he was a son of the late Frank and Della (Taylor) Strong. Harold worked as a carpenter all of his life. He enjoyed antique cars and old tractors as a hobby. Surviving besides his wife the former, Evelyn Roberts are daughters: Anna (Graham) Baxter, Cambridge Station and Norma Strong, Lower Sackville; son, Edward (Elizabeth) Strong, South Waterville; grandchildren, Rodney and Rhonda Baxter; Jason and Justin Strong; four great-grandchildren; brothers: Angus, Kentville; Hartley and Laurice both of South Waterville; sisters: Edna (Douglas) Magee, Kentville; Esther Barteaux, Welland, Ont. He was predeceased by a daughter, Edith; sister, Pauline Lutz and brother, Orley Strong. Visitation will be held 7-9 p.m. Monday in the Annapolis Valley Funeral Home, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr. (Exit 14), Coldbrook and from where the funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Rev. Garnet Parker officiating. Interment will be in the Berwick Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or to a charity of choice.
