Obituary of Cornelius Geradus Mooy

Mooy, Cornelius G. (Casey) of Coldbrook, Kings Co. We wish to announce the death of Cornelius G. (Casey) Mooy who died Dec. 08, 2011 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville with his wife, Belle by his side. Casey was born Sept. 22, 1934 in Amsterdam, Holland, a son of the late Cornelius & Clazina (Zinneger) Mooy and immigrated to Canada with his family in March, 1939. He is survived by his great love and best friend, Belle; sons, Michael (Jane), Toronto; Eric, Kentville; John (Emma), Canard; sisters, Trudy Nette, Berwick; Connie Cook and Dora Best both of Ontario; Ena Pineo, Berwick; Anne Laing, Berwick; Hettie Nichols, Kentville; Maria Burke, Berwick; seven grandchildren. Casey was predeceased by brother, Jacob and sister, Gardy Killam. He loved the Annapolis Valley and always said when he saw Cape Blomidon ???Now I??m Home!??. He was involved in business in the valley all of his life and took an active interest in community affairs which included nine years as a county councilor. Cremation has taken place. A gathering to celebrate his life will be held in the Annapolis Valley Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr. (Exit 14) Coldbrook 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 11, 2011.
