Obituary of Wayne Usher

Usher, Wayne Eric - 69, of South Waterville, passed away Wednesday, January 26, 2011 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Berwick, he was the only son of the late Raymond & Elsie (Usher) Pinch. Wayne had been a farm laborer for most of his life, having worked at the Research Station in Kentville and Avon Foods in Berwick, among other places. He was an active volunteer with the Valley Search & Rescue and enjoyed listening to bluegrass & country music. Wayne had many friends and took pleasure in sharing stories and past memories with them. He is survived by his loving companion: Leota ???Odie?? Rose, Prospect Bay; daughter: Lisa Usher (Brian Lamacraft), Powell River, B.C.; and two grandsons: Ryan & Anthony, Wilmot. Wayne was predeceased by his beloved wife, Barbara (Connors). Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. & 7-9 p.m. Monday, January 31, 2011in the Annapolis Valley Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Drive, Coldbrook (Exit 14). The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 1, 2011 in the Cambridge United Baptist Church, Cambridge. Rev. Garnet Parker officiating. Spring burial will take place in the Cambridge Cemetery, Cambridge at a later date to be determined. Family flowers only. Donations in memory of Wayne may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
