Roefs, Derrick Anthony, 47 of Waterville, Kings Co. passed away peacefully Thursday, May 16, 2013 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Kingston, Ont., he was the son of Anthony Lambert & Dolores Marie (DeCoste) Roefs. Derrick was an altar server at St. Anthony Roman Catholic Church, Berwick. He would often share the hope, peace, love & joy of Jesus and sang from the heart. Derrick was a part of the Kings Rehabilitation Centre family since 1997 & the staff there were a big part of his life. He is survived by his parents; many aunts, uncles & cousins. He was predeceased by his DeCoste & Roefs?? grandparents, aunts & uncles. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, May 21 in the Annapolis Valley Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr. Coldbrook (Exit 14). Funeral service will be held, 11:00 a.m. Wednesday in St. Joseph??s Roman Catholic Church, Kentville. Fr. Henry Smolenaars officiating & assisted by Fr. Gerald Saulnier & Fr. Craig Cameron. Interment will take place in the Holy Cross Cemetery, Kentville. Reception to follow the service in the church hall. No flowers by family request.
