Palmer, Paul Colin, It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Paul Colin Palmer, of Berwick, Kings Co. on Friday, October 12, 2012 in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville, after a brief illness. Paul was born in Northville, Kings County, on November 11, 1927 to Luther Palmer and Jessie (Foote) Palmer, the youngest of four children. He graduated from Horton Academy in Wolfville, and began his work career as a salesman for Milne??s Garage in New Minas. A few years later, he obtained the Ford Farm and Industrial Equipment Sales Franchise and opened for business in Berwick, where he operated for over 30 years during which time he won several national sales awards and competitions. Paul was an antique car enthusiast and had a great love for V-8 Fords, which he collected with a passion. Several of his vehicles won top prizes at car shows throughout Canada and the US. Paul was a walking encyclopedia of antique car information and was often consulted as an appraiser and for his knowledge, which he gladly gave. He was an active member of the Masonic Lodge for over 50 years, having served in many positions. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Dorothy (Margeson) Palmer; his daughter, Marie Palmer, Ottawa; his son, Curt Palmer and wife, Shelagh Campbell-Palmer of Coldbrook; and his two grandsons, Colin and Benjamin Palmer of Halifax and Leicester, England. One of Paul??s greatest pleasures was spending time with his family, which gatherings were made richer by his great gift as a storyteller. He was predeceased by his parents and three sisters, Dorothy, Bernice and Anne. Visitation will be held from 7-9 pm Sunday in the Annapolis Valley Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr. Coldbrook (Exit 14) and from where a funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, October 15, 2012. Pastor Eva VanBuskirk officiating. A reception will follow the service in the Coldbrook & District Lions Hall, South Bishop Rd., Coldbrook. Interment will take place in the Berwick Cemetery, Berwick. Family flowers only. Donations in Paul??s memory may be made to the Crohn??s and Colitis Foundation of Canada or to the charity of one??s choice. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to the physicians and staff on Medical B at the Valley Regional Hospital for Paul??s fine care in his last days.
