Whitehouse, Cora Jean - 93, Evergreen Home for Special Care, Kentville passed away peacefully on October 13, 2013. Born in Brazil Lake, Yarmouth Co., she was a daughter of the late Eugene and Martha (Burrill) Crosby. Cora spent several years teaching school, followed by co-ownership of the Lite Lunch Restaurant in Coldbrook. She also worked for Statistics Canada before retiring. She enjoyed oil and water color painting, ceramics, travelling and card games with family and friends. She is survived by son Earl (Carol) Hurlburt, Cambridge-Narrows, NB,; two grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her first husband Robert Hurlburt and second husband Ansel Whitehouse; sister, Alta Dennison; granddaughter Kim Leslie. There will be no visitation by family request. A memorial service will be held Wednesday October 16, 2013 at 11 a.m. in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovahs Witness, 825 Park Street, Kentville. Chris Plant officiating. Burial will be held in the Elmgrove Cemetery, Steam Mill. Donations in memory may be made to the Canadian Heart and Stroke foundation or to a charity of choice.
