Lyon, Gloria E. - 73, Falmouth, passed away October 12, 2013 in the QE II Health Services Centre, Halifax. Born in Wentworth Creek, Hants Co., she was a daughter of the late Francis "Frank" and Marguerite (Harvie) Baxter. Gloria was the eldest of four siblings. Gloria was never one for a lot of praise for herself, always more thoughtful of others, although John would thank her for the meals she prepared which she appreciated. Come exhibition time she would encourage husband John to go, telling him to, "Have a good time" but before he got out of the door she would say "Not too good of a time". She liked to share recipes with neighbours and always willing to try theirs. Gloria got great satisfaction picking things from the garden and preserving the extras for winter. Being a member of the Baptist Church, which she had great faith in and taught Sunday School for a number of years, gave her strength in her gallant battle with cancer. Gloria is survived by her husband of 51 years John; sons Todd (Colleen) their children, Tyra, Sean and Emma; Dana (Serena) their children, Jonathan and Miranda; brother Wilfred (Annelisa) Baxter; sisters Sharon (Kenneth) Gartland, Deborah (Arthur) Stevens; foster sister June (Robert) McLellan; sister-in-law Irene (David) Lewis aso by several nieces and nephews.
